Penny Smyth became a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor in 2008 when it became a legal requirement in N Ireland to have this assessment carried out for all domestic residential sales and lettings.

Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)

An EPC assesses the energy performance of a property, from "A" representing the most energy efficient property to "G" representing the last energy efficient property. It must be carried out by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and will also show a building's environmental impact by indicating its carbon dioxide emissions.

A valid EPC will last for 10 years and can be used for multiple tenancies. In addition to this it can also be used should you ever come to sell the property.
